£75,000 awarded after road traffic accident triggers joint hypermobility syndrome

Miss C was involved in a road traffic accident after another driver drove out of a side road, into the side of her car.

The accident triggered symptoms from joint hypermobility syndrome, together with psychological injury and soft tissue injuries. These had an effect upon her ability to work.

Liability was admitted by the Defendant’s Insurers and compensation of £75,000 was recovered.

The solicitor with conduct, Jonathan Pidduck, stated:

“We frequently act for clients with joint hypermobility syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and have the expertise to pursue claims where these conditions have been triggered or aggravated by an accident. We frequently take over cases from other solicitors who do not always appreciate the nature of these conditions and the different way in which these claims should be conducted”.
