£57,500 settlement for wrist fracture caused by theatre accident

In May 2019, our client fractured her wrist during a theatre play rehearsal. Liability was promptly admitted by the Theatre for failure to provide a safe environment and have any risk assessments in place to prevent against accidents.

Surgery was required, following which a report was obtained from an expert hand surgeon, in which it was confirmed that while most of our client’s symptoms should settle within two years of her accident, she would unfortunately suffer from residual aching and stiffness symptoms permanently.

Our client’s claim eventually settled for the sum of £57,500, which included a claim for loss of holiday and for future care and assistance, as she would be permanently prevented from carrying out certain heavy activities.

Our client commented as follow on the service provided by Girlings:

“I would like to thank Girlings solicitors especially Raphaelle Davies for accepting my case and handling it with total dedication to achieve the best possible result in my favour. She has worked through some very difficult times during COVID restrictions but still managed a successful outcome. My sincere thanks.”
