Shantala Carr receives Kent Law Society’s Covid Hero Award

We are pleased to announce that Shantala Carr, Medical Negligence Partner, was awarded one of the Kent Law Society’s Covid Hero Awards last Friday.

Hosted by President Alexandra Gordon from Brachers LLP, the Kent Law Society Awards evening took place virtually with around 100 members celebrating the profession’s achievements and efforts during the last year.

The winners were presented their awards by Stephanie Boyce, President of the Law Society, after an inspiring speech about her aims and goals during her presidency.

Shantala received the award for juggling work and home schooling two children whilst her husband worked away, as well as taking the lead on a number of marketing initiatives, offering assistance and training for team members and generally having an open door policy. She also set up a wellbeing session for our company and sister firm Girlings LLP to encourage openly talking about the challenges faced during lockdown, particularly in the legal profession.

The event was sponsored by Burgess Hodgson LLP, Partners Wealth Management and Page Group, with companies such as Biddenden Vineyards, The Maidstone Distillery, Kent Crisps and Goupie providing items for the goody boxes.

Congratulations to Shantala and all of the other award winners. We are proud to have been part of such an inspiring event listening to all of the other award winners’ stories and how they have overcome and helped clients, colleagues and family and friends in what has been a challenging year. Last, but by no means least, a big thank you to Alexandra and the committee members at the Kent Law Society who made the evening such a success.
