Raffy Holliday, aged 3, dies from HHV6 encephalopathy at Great Ormond Street Hospital

Raffy, aged 3, was diagnosed with leukaemia under the age of 1. He was in full remission prior to receiving a bone marrow transplant in September 2020.

Following the transplant he tested positive for the virus HHV6 which led to his death in March 2023.

Raffy's mum, Imogen Holliday, has set up a campaign called Red Duck to raise awareness of HHV6 and change NHS practices around the management of the virus.

Our Shantala Carr, Partner and Medical Negligence Solicitor, has been instructed by the family to bring a claim against Great Ormond Street Hospital.
